I'm not totally sure why girl birthday parties make me nervous but they do! Boy parties...no problem! Girls? Little girls are a bit harder for me. Each year we give the kids the option of going shopping or having a party. This year B decided she wanted to have a party! She bounced between three themes (princess, ballerina, & something else equally pink) but finally decided on ballerina! Here's what we did...

We decided to create a stage area for the girls by using B's bedroom curtain and the
flowy curtain thing from my room. As the girls arrived they each had their picture taken in front of the curtain striking their best ballerina pose.

Next we moved on to painting jewelry boxes. We plan lots of activities to do with the kids and then just see how long it takes them to get through each activity. I was surprised at how long they wanted to paint their boxes! It was great! We did this first so they would have time to dry. While I cleaned and set up the next activity the girls played twinkle toe chairs (musical chairs with ballet moves instead of walking).

Next we decorated tutu's! I found stick on gems at Joann's fabric store and the tutu's came from
(http://www.haloheaven.com/) and were super fast shipping it to us. We ordered on Friday and they were here on Tuesday (due to the holiday on Monday). Once the tutu's were done the girls danced on the stage! I'll include video of that later...

Here is our B! 5 years old! Man where did the time go!
